Time Management

Importance of time in our life

Time value is most important in life. Everyone has to respect and understand the time value because time can give the reaction of evil as well as good. Some persons understand the meaning and importance of life.

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you satisfied in the future. Think of how precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.

We should value and respect the importance of time every single moment. We should not waste time at all till the end moment of our life. Time is very strong and powerful than everything in this world. It may destroy a lazy person as well as strengthen a hardworking person.

Time management is important for students to do the study with focus. Time management is important for students to get high marks. Student's success in studies depends much on managing time efficiently. The habits and morals they acquire during school time and home will stick with them throughout the future.

1.Distraction to waste time

Distractions include items like a computer, a phone, and small items that you can play with. distractions also include things that are around you, like a friend, an annoying classmate, or a window.

Physical removal is the best way to deal with a distraction. So, for example, if you know a classmate is distracting you. Try sitting somewhere else. Your teacher will understand and will probably be more than happy to help you move seats.

2.focus

Things you might catch yourself thinking about include games, what you’re doing after school, your boyfriend or girlfriend (or lack thereof!), your friends, your family...even fantasy stuff like books you'd like to read or places you wish you could go.

One thing you might want to practice is building your ability to focus. Test yourself by trying to do a challenging task while listening to loud, distracting music. The focus is a skill that needs to be exercised and developed, just like any other.

Few tips to gain better focus

1. For every fifty to sixty minutes of study time, plan a ten to fifteen-minute break.

2. When taking a break, get a snack for an energy boost, be active, and take a short walk, or listen to a few favorite songs.

3. Rewards for sticking to a schedule can be given at the end of a study day or at the end of the semester. The reward for adhering to a schedule for a semester should be greater than the reward that one gives him or herself for sticking to it on a daily basis.

4. Study time should be scheduled for a time when the student is the most focused and alert. For example, people who are more alert at night should schedule their study time in the evenings.

3.Daily routine timetable

The first step of setting up a study schedule is choosing a calendar or program to arrange the schedule on. Whatever a person chooses to use, it should be something that they can easily refer to and that has enough space to document daily study requirements for at least a semester.

Once a calendar is in hand, the student should markdown or enter all of the dates that are set by the college or high schools, such as final examination dates or class times. If the student participates in a sport, dates, and times of each game and practice session should also be documented.

After the athletic and fixed academic hours and activities have been entered on the calendar, it is time to add one's study time. Ideally, students should allow two hours of study for every one hour spent in class. Assignments and projects should be prioritized and scheduled accordingly based on when they are due and the level of importance.

4. Get a good night's sleep

Many students give up sleep to get good grades, but research shows that students who sleep more get better grades.

It’s no secret that college students tend to skimp on sleep to squeeze the most out of 24 hours. But this generation is different, and researchers are increasingly focusing on college students because they are one of the most sleep-deprived populations.

College students go to bed one to two hours later and sleep less per night on average compared to previous generations.  As a result, 75% of U-M undergraduates do not sleep enough to feel rested on five or more days per week, and 19% reported that sleep difficulties had an impact on academic performance in the past year.

Sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night to function at their best. Children and teens need even more. And despite the notion that our sleep needs decrease with age, most older people still need at least 7 hours of sleep. Since older adults often have trouble sleeping this long at night, daytime naps can help fill in the gap.

The best way to figure out if you’re meeting your sleep needs is to evaluate how you feel as you go about your day. If you’re logging enough sleep hours, you’ll feel energetic and alert all day long, from the moment you wake up until your regular bedtime.
